Rooms & pods

- Are the sleeping areas in the hostel separate?

The sleeping areas in the hostel are not separated. It is one space split by toilets and a shower room. The space has a choice of single and double pods.

Is breakfast included with my overnight stay?

Breakfast is not automatically included, but can easily be added during the reservation or check-infor €14.95.

- Is there air conditioning in the rooms and at the hostel?

Every hotel room is equipped with air conditioning. The dormitory where the pods are located has climate control. The temperature is kept constant at 17 degrees. Fresh air enters the sleeping pod through the ventilation system. Our tip: keep your curtain slightly open for this purpose.

- Are there hair dryers at the hostel and in the hotel rooms?

There is a hair dryer in every hotel room. At the hostels there is a possibility to borrow one. You can request this at the Front Office. Failure to return the hair dryer will result in a fine of €25.00.

- Is it possible to cook for yourself?

There is no cooking facility. We have the restaurant 'At Table' where you can join other hostel and hotel guests at a table for a reasonable price. And you can order food a la carte.

- Is there soap/shampoo in the hotel rooms and hostel showers?

Shower gel and shampoo are provided in all hotel rooms. At the shower stalls of the PODS is shampoo and shower gel for general use.

- Is bedding provided?

Bedding is provided in both the hotel rooms at Stadsklooster Dordt and the hostel pods.

- Is it possible to run a wash?

Running a wash is not possible.

- Is it possible to iron my clothes?

Exceptionally, there is a possibility of ironing.

Reservations & Availability

How far in advance should we make a reservation?
We recommend contacting us as soon as possible once you decide to organize a celebration or other event. That way, we can start brainstorming with you right away and discuss the options together.

Is the venue available for exclusive rental, or will we be sharing the space with others?

What are the minimum and maximum number of guests?
The minimum and maximum number of guests varies by venue and depends on the type of event. In our booking module, you’ll find the maximum number of guests for each layout.Click herefor more information.

Can we schedule a viewing or tour first?
You’re more than welcome to drop by and take a look at our venue—no appointment is necessary. If you’d like to discuss the details of your event during your visit, we’d be happy to schedule a meeting. In that case, please send us an email with some general information about your celebration, and we’ll get in touch with you.

• Can we reserve a date? And how long is the reservation valid?
Yes, it is possible to place a non-binding option in our calendar. Our quotes are valid for 14 days.

Prices & Payments

What are the costs for renting the venue?

Do you offer package deals or custom solutions?
We offer fixed packages and are also happy to work with you on custom solutions whenever possible.

• Are service, cleaning, and setup and takedown included in the price?
Yes, service, cleaning, and basic setup and takedown are included in the price.

• Is a deposit required?
For reservations totaling more than €2,000, we require a 50% deposit.

When must the full amount be paid?
The full invoice must be paid within 14 days of issuance.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be submitted in writing.
– For cancellations made up to 14 days before the event, the deposit will be refunded in full.
– For cancellations made within 14 days of the reserved date, 50% of the estimated cost will be charged.
– Unfortunately, no refund is possible for cancellations made within 48 hours of the event.

Food & Drink

Can we choose from different menus or buffets?
Yes, we offer a variety of lunch and dinner packages for you to choose from.

Is it possible to let us know about dietary preferences or allergies?
Absolutely. For larger events, we ask that you let us know about any dietary preferences or allergies at least 14 days before the event.

Can we bring our own cake, catering, or drinks?
We offer our own food and beverage packages. Specific requests or ideas are always welcome; the options depend on the type of celebration. For celebrations such as weddings or birthdays, you may bring your own cake.  

Please note! Due to HACCP regulations, we are unable to store cakes in our refrigerators. Therefore, cakes must always be delivered shortly before serving.

Do you offer beverage packages, or do you bill basedon actual consumption?
Both options are available. We determine which option to use based on the type of reservation and the number of guests.

Can we schedule a tasting in advance?
A tasting is available for weddings and can be arranged upon request.

Music & Entertainment

Is there a sound system available?
Yes, there is a sound system available that is suitable for regular meetings and parties.

Can we bring a DJ or a live band?
Yes, that’s certainly possible. We’ll coordinate this with you in advance.

Until what time is music allowed?
Music may be played indoors until midnight. After that time, the volume must be lowered, and the music must stop completely by 12:30 a.m. Music may be played in the garden until 11:00 p.m.

Are there noise restrictions regarding nearby residents?
Yes, we are mindful of our surroundings and adhere to noise restrictions in accordance with applicable guidelines. Outdoor = 45 dB and indoor = 65 dB.

A "noise permit" may be requested five times a year. In such cases, the noise level may exceed the limit by 20 dB until 2:00 a.m.

Decor & Styling

Is basic decoration included?
The Stadsklooster provides basic decorations in its house style. These may be used during events.

Can we bring our own decorations?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own decorations. 

Can you help with styling, or do you work with a stylist?
Generally, the client is responsible for decorating the space, and the decorations are removed afterward (possibly the next day, if agreed upon). If desired, we can include table styling as part of our table-setting service. This is always done in consultation.

Are candles, balloons, or confetti allowed?
Candles are permitted provided they are placed in glass or cone-shaped candle holders. Balloons, garlands, and other table decorations are permitted. Unfortunately, confetti and smoke machines are not permitted. Nothing may be stuck to the walls or windows. This is permitted on our partition wall in rooms 1 & 2. 

Schedule & Program of the Party

What time can we set up, and what time do we need to clean up?
Setup times are always determined by mutual agreement. In principle, takedown takes place on the same day after the event ends; in some cases, this may be the following day, subject to mutual agreement.

Is it possible to extend the event, and what are the costs?
Extending the event past 1:00 a.m. is not possible. However, if you’d like to book an extra hour for a party or dinner, that’s possible. Of course, there is an additional charge for this.

Parking & Accessibility

Is there sufficient parking available?
We do not have our own parking lot for guests. There is one private parking space available for guests with disabilities or a wedding couple, for example. Loading and unloading for suppliers is permitted. The Drievriendenhof parking garage is located about a two-minute walk away.

Is the location easily accessible by public transportation?
Yes, both the bus and train stations are within walking distance of the location.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the Stadsklooster is wheelchair accessible.

Other

Can we bring a photographer or videographer?
Absolutely. They will be included in the total number of guests. Bringing a photo booth is also permitted.

Is there an indoor and/or outdoor space available?
We have several indoor spaces and one garden.

• What happens in case of bad weather (for outdoor parties)?
We always plan for a bad weather scenario. If the weather turns out to be nice, that’s just a bonus. 

Issmoking allowed in the Kloostertuin?
Smoking is permitted at the front of the building. Exceptions may be made for private parties.

Parking

Is it possible to park my car at Stadsklooster Dordt?There are no regular parking spaces for passenger cars. Only people with disabilities and guests loading or unloading are permitted to park on the premises.

Alternatives:
- Free parking up to 24 hours on Weeskinderendijk (license plate registration at vending machine/app), then €0.30/hour. The entrance to the parking lot is at Weeskinderendijk 21. From there it is a 20 min walk to the center. On Saturdays, a free shuttle bus runs from 10 am to 6 pm. It runs from the parking lot to bus stop Centrum and back.
- Parking garage Drievriendenhof nearby is paid.

• Is there a charging station for my car?We do not offer charging facilities for your car. Parking is available only for guests with disabilities. You can charge your car for a fee at one of the parking spaces along the street in front of our hotel (Vest).

Bicycle parking

Is there a secure, coveredbike rack?
Our bike rack is located in a sheltered spot in the courtyard. The rack is not covered.

Can bicycles be stored indoors?
It is not possible to store bicycles indoors.

Can I charge my e-bike?
We do not have a charger for e-bikes.

Early check-in is available for a fee. You can book this option through our website. Alternatively, please contact our front desk. Late check-in on days when we are open until 6:00 PM is possible using a key locker. For this, you must ALWAYS contact our front desk at 085-239 33 01.

Station

- How far is it from the train station to Stadsklooster Dordt?

The distance from Dordrecht train station to Stadsklooster Dordt is 600 meters, which is a 9-minute walk.

Activities in the area

- What is there to do in the area?

  • Book a city tour with our own Dordtologist
  • Visit various museums in downtown Dordrecht
  • Take an e-Chopper trip to the Biesbosch (start at VVV Dordrecht tourist office)
  • Rent a SUP or take a cruise at DRIJF Dordrecht and discover the city from the water
  • Hop on the whisper boat and cruise past the highlights of Dordrecht
  • Rent a pedal boat downtown for an active day out
  • Explore the Dordrecht area from the water with the water bus. Stops include Rotterdam and Kinderdijk (bringing bikes is possible).
  • Climb Dordrecht church tower and enjoy stunning views
  • Rent a bike at the train station and discover Dordrecht at your own pace
  • Take a fun tour at Rutte Distillery (18+)
  • In bad weather: catch a movie at the cinema
